I think he was shown up as a rank amateur in the acting stakes in recent years. When they re-made his awful version of the Wicker Man, with the frankly sensational Nicholas Cage

met him in sainsburys in plymouth years ago. and again in derriford hospital plymouth. he did live in callington though, quite near.
