Only respondents who have included a numerical measure of chronological progression along this mortal coil have been included in the results. Sadly, Excel is unable to calculate averages from sample data which includes entries like "antique on last legs" - sorry epicyclo! ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Come on now, don't be coy; this is science, remember.

*But I claim mitigating circumstances, I'm only there to moderate the Gisburn Forest group, I don't do (or understand) all the status and friend malarky.

I intend to do some SERIOUS statistics on these responses, some day.

I agree, though I'm not entirely sure what my thesis is yet. I'm sure I can come up with something that the statistics support...

UPDATE:

Yes: 37 (79%), average age 37.4 yrs

No: 10 (21%), average age 42.1 yrs

The pendulum has swung, though we still need more data to draw any "valid" conclusions.

Sorry DezB, I've made an executive decision not to include "people I know" as it is open to abuse and will upset the purity of my data - for instance, the core demographic of this site is males in their 30s and 40s many of who will have very young children, none of which will have a Facebook account.

Sorry, but I hope my reasoning is sound (it's just a bit of self-indulgent fun masquerading as proper science anyway ๐Ÿ™‚ )

What about men with young children that lie about their age to open a facebook account?

Dunno if this has been mentioned already but isn't this sample a little "skewed" given everyone who is responding is almost by definition likely to be web-literate and with a penchant for "sharing things" online? ๐Ÿ˜‰

For the record...

1. Yes (but rarely/hardly ever use it)
