On holiday with the family in Nairn and fancy a day out riding. The kids enjoy the blue trails like at Glentress, Coed, Gisburn etc. Does anyone know of anything similar in the area we could all go to for the day?

Glenlivet sounds like it would be ideal. Or the Moray Monster trails in Fochabers.
Glenlivet is a fair way from Nairn and it's not that good.
Moray Monster trails would definitely fit the bill though.
The Moray Coast Trail from Findhorn to Fochabers. The single track isn’t signposted though but you can get pretty much all the way to Burghead through/along the treeline.
Findhorn to play on the downhill-ish bits in the woods before Burghead caravan park usually takes a 3-4 hour round trip from Findhorn. There’s a reasonable outside catering/burger van in the Roseisle car park too.
You could do an out and back to Fochabers (but the Fochabers end has a mile or two sandy dunes stuff that’s not worth the bother). Turn back around Covesea I guess.

There are marked trails at Abriachan, SW of Inverness but I believe there is some forestry work going on there at the moment so some of them will be closed.
metalhearts Findorn suggestion is an excellent one. Head East from Findhorn until you meet the forest then explore every option.
The Blues at Learnie Red Rocks? Good views from one of them. And drop into Black Isle Brewery while in the area to stock up for the evening.
I hope you are enjoying Nairn - it's my nearest town (live a few miles inland) and whilst the town centre is not pretty the surrounding area and what you can do as a day out I think is pretty awesome.

We arrived last night so just planning days out, could you recommend a castle to visit we are thinking of Brodie castle? Also is there a good Chinese takeaway in the town, it’s my daughters birthday whilst we are away and she loves salt and pepper chicken! You do work for the local tourist board don’t you 😉?!

Castle - yes brodie good is if you like your castle manicured. Cawdor is very similar in that respect (castle meets stately home) and maybe better. Close call. Fort George for...well.. a fort! Castle Urquhart for a ruinous castle (though v touristy on Loch Ness) but maybe Rait castle if you fancy a ruin just randomly in a field just out of Nairn. If you have SUP boards/kayak with you or are a bit of a swimmer Lochindorb Castle in the middle of Lochindorb is a great adventure.
Chinese....much local controversy! Mr Tan on the high street was considered the best in the highlands but.....he has subbed out the running of it and it's gone downhill.
MTB - if you fancy a v short blast just out of town (unofficial dug by local lads but v popular and well know but more black than blue) have a look on Trail forks - some short runs in the woods a few miles out of town on the A939. Park in the layby just before Greens Nursery.
Oh...and the showies are in town (that's a fairground to you and me) on the Links. Central carpark will be crazy. Park at the maggot and go on the east beach. It's the best beach anyway!

This. Swam round it a few weeks back. If you go ashore, it's much bigger when inside than it looks from the outside. (was the Wolf of Badenoch a time lord?)
Fastest town in the North , Naaaiirrnn... Lovely wee place , Charlie Chaplin used to holiday there apparently. Im from Elgin but always remember Nairn as being a wild night out when we were younger. Enjoy.
