See - if you think about this rationally - if each of those steps was right at ground level, we'd all have a go at dropping off one of them with a bike like that. So, for someone who can do drops like that in their sleep, there is no real challenge to it other than the huge F-Up factor.

The F-up factor and inability to be rational which IS the challenge. Pretty much all of these sorts of things is 90% mental and 10% skill.

Climbing is a good example. Placing gear whilst stood on the ground is actually very straight forward and fluid. Try doing it while you're 50ft up and will potentially hit the deck if you don't get the nut in. Your trousers are liable to go brown quite quickly.

Same with high northshore on the bike.

I expect it's a bit windier up there than at ground level.

Each to their own and all that but to me that's just bloody stupid. The Chris Askrigg video just posted is much more impressive and while there is still a reasonable penalty for failure in places it doesn't have quite such a high death potential.

He falls a bit, if you look at the scars on his legs.

I'm not scared of heights but watching that had me worried

2 very different perspectives.

Helmet - you feel all the fear and see only serious consequence.

Shot of rider and you see a walk in the park by an expert rider.
