I will be in That London next weekend. It's my wife's birthday so I'd like to take her to a nice restaurant, hoping to escape for 100 quid or so. Fish place might be good. We'll be staying near Gloucester Road, but I suppose we can get around by that underground thingy they have down there. Any recommendations would be gratefully received!!

I remember seeing a thread about taking the wife up the Oxo tower, might be worth a look into that

Medlar isn't far from there, has a Michelin star, yet not that expensive (£100 should be doable with a bottle of wine). Not been yet but planning to.

J Sheekey is meant to be excellent for fish & seafood but is a bit of a trek (it's by Leicester Sq tube).

Else just get on toptable or london-eating and see what's well reviewed.

I normally suggest the Wolseley for somewhere with a bit of sense of occasion, and decent food, and is really rather nice inside to boot.
Three courses and wine is doable for £100 or so.

I went to Bill Wyman's Sticky Fingers in Kensington when we were down in the summer, it was superb.

(there is simply no way of saying this without *somebody* s****ing so I'm not going to try...)

I've been to the Oxo Tower restaurant and it was really very good - wonderful food and the environment was fantastic. Do it.

It's gotta be The lvy

It's really down to earth, good food, excellent service,
And half a chance of spotting a z list celeb 🙂

The Mrs will love it.

Will struggle to get a table but defo worth a try if you can be flexible on time

Tamarind in Mayfair for michelin star curry. Downside is you'll never enjoy a normal curry in the same way again.

If it's fish you're after it has to be J Sheekey.

Pizza restaurants for your wife's birthday is a good idea.

Brilliant idea! Why not save some more cash and just get a domino's or pizza-hut 😯
