I am taking 14 colleagues out for dinner in Chester, at the start of December. There will be a few Europeans with poor English - was thinking about smart bistro rather than flash restaurant - staying near the railway station - would prefer someting a bit different rather than chain - maybe private dining room? Any suggestions???

Odd Fellows for private room
Blackhouse grill is nice and can cope with big numbers
Upstairs At The Grill if you want fantastic steak (pretty much only serve steak) - but small and may not take those numbers
All are city centre.

The Commercial is ok, living room has just had a refurb I'm going for a freebie on Thursday so will report back. If you want to stay local and avoid going right into the city the Siam tapenyaki is nearby, I live almost oposite and it always seems nice and the food is tasty if you like that kind of thing. La Tasca is ok for Spanish Tapas and you can get a good price by printing the voucher off martin lewis website. If it's a weekend or student night I'd avoid oddfellows it's too noisey and has a DJ. 15 min drive away is the Phesent at Burwurdsley amazing view and food but not really what your after, just thought i'd throw it into the mix.
