I love the idea that Mr Junkyard has multiple logins associated with different email addresses and was emailing himself amongst them, only to have one of his identities report him to the mods.

Right. Here's a potted history.
Fred CC:ed a moderator with an email trail implicating Junkyard in a plan to deliberately troll the forum.
Said moderator duly brought it to the attention of the rest of the team.
On the evidence presented, JY was banned.
Fred said it wasn't his fault and instead blamed the moderator for 'dobbing him in' (by... telling a moderator... ok...?)
JY protested his innocence. On review, we concluded that the ban was in error, apologies were issued and JY was reinstated.
Fred congratulated himself on being responsible for getting the ban lifted. No, me neither.
