Repurposing an old Huawei Media Pad T5

Morning all,

I have become the proud new owner of a hand me down Huawei Media Pad T5 which in its current guise is bloated, clunky and glacial at best. Thing is though I can't help thinking it would be make a great going away camping/back of the van tablet for say music and media streaming, checking maps and basic web browsing. Is there a way for the OS to be stripped back to basics so it could have a little as possible on board while still being able to run say Spotify, Amazon Prime/Netflix, OS Maps and Chrome?

I have two, but one is refusing to charge now - I will need to work out how to open it up and swap the battery (if it's worth doing) Lots of photos on there I'd like to get off.

I didn't think they were too bad a tablet?
