If you are into TV miniseries, We Own This City is pretty sobering viewing.

American Gangster is pretty epic, though you’ve likely seen it.
Lots of good suggestions up there. Seen most of them. Found The Post a bit underwhelming personally. Surprised no one has mentioned King Richard. Found that an excellent film.
Also, a lot older now, but A Dry White Season was also quite a profound film when I first saw it.
I enjoyed The Laundromat based on the true story of shell companies and the Panama Papers
not based on true stories, but bloody good films you may or may not have seen....
