On our way to France tomorrow and going on the overnight ferry for a change. Thought it might be nice to have a decent tea before boarding the ferry. Anyone know of anywhere not too far off the main routes into the port?

Carluccios in Gunwhalf Quays or the Fish Restaurant there or Cafe Rouge.. all in Gunwhalf Quays. 5min walk from Ferry terminal, oh.. wait which terminal ?? Still only a short walk away.

Don't know Pompey that well, but the Old Town is quite quaint ... might find something there ..

Custom House which is at Gunwharf at least has an 'older' feel or walk around the harbour to Still and West in the Old Town - bit of a trek from the X-channel ferry terminal though. There is some on-street parking in the Old Town after 6pm - busy during the day.

sant yago - some of the best tapas i've ever had

nemrut - pretty basic turkish family restuarant; looks like a kebab shop from the outside - the food is amazing though.

last time i went it mostly felt like weatherspoons!
