Both good suggestions. But if you fancy a really cracking walk before a top notch gourmet dinner in a really nice hotel, try Hipping Hall near Kirkby Lonsdale. It's only about 5 miles from the Dales - Mrs Ransos and I walked up Whernside to work up an appetite. Kirkby Lonsdale is also a very pretty little town.

Kimbers - stayed there a few times. One of Mrs Binners mates owns it 😀
We often do something similar, January this year we went to Anglesey, stayed [url= http://www.southstackcoastalretreats.co.uk/ ]here[/url] which was absolutely lovely and a great base for tramping about, but not so good if you want a lively bar. +1 for Stratford too, I like Stratford.

Mrs WW treated me to a weekend away a few years ago. I said i fancied Prague but she diecided in he own mind that a 4 hour flight was too far for a weekend.
We went to Saundersfoot instead and i drove the five hours each way... 😯
