Need to be good for driving in and keeping my trousers dry and hopefully preventing me decking myself on ice out here in the Alps and also black!

any recommendations this side of £100

Go outdoors will be doing karrimor ones for 25quid from the 19th to the 24th.

muck boots, warm socks and kahtoola microspikes have seen me right for the past winters snow and ice. I dont think you need the arctic muck boots.
