My mamuts of 18months have split and given up! They cost £135 and tbh haven't been the best!
New ones will be used for dog walking duties and occasionally a wet mtb ride!
What do you guys recommend? I do like the look of brashers fellmasters???

My only experience of Meindle boots is a couple of pairs of Desert Fox ex-Army issue I've picked up from fleabay, but they are just so damned comfy! If other Meindle boots are as comfy, then they've got to be worth a go.

Keep eyes peeled on sportpursuit, they had Meindl not too long ago. Brands normally pop up again.
I have a pair of Meindl fugitives, my feet love them.
Here's a set for reasonable money;

Bought a pair of these on eBay using a 20% off voucher.
Good for the money, wasn't chuffed on the insoles but I always swop for super feet insoles anyway.

Asolo Fugitive GTX. We're all the rage for cutting about in Poole and Afghan before they started buying Salomon.
My last pair did 2 years.

Swear by Scarpa's. Haven't destroyed a pair yet and you can often get a deal on them from some of the German outdoor websites.

Indeed. Scarpas destroy my feet (they are pretty narrow), but they are well made. My feet love Meindls but my Burma Pros have just had a weird issue where some of the foam in the heel became rolled up and caused an agonising pressure area. I ended up cutting into the stitching inside the boot in the snow on a munro on Saturday and cutting out the offending bit then taping up the damage to get home. This morning I've sown it up and it all looks and feels fine, but as the boots are 2 years and many hundreds of miles old it was a bit strange.

Anyway, I digress. Try lots of boots on and buy the ones which fit and are suitable for your usage. Most at that budget will be fine for quality.
