Stag weekend in august. Looking for a rural retreat perhaps with a pub or two in walking distance. Stag would like to shoot something (probably clay pigeons not real animals or paint ball).

Lakes, peak district or Perthshire could all work well for us.

Any ideas or recommendations?

I have been here with scout groups, I am sure you can hire it privately though.

Was a similar thread a few weeks ago:

Edit: If you do end up in perthshire, I can recommend this company: http://www.naelimits.co.uk/ I did white water rafting and quad biking with them on my brother's stag party.

Thorpe Farm bunkhouses near Hathersage in the Peaks was good about 4 years ago. Basic and pretty smelly, but I guess that could have applied to us as guests as well. A good place to mass cater, sit around and get smashed before nipping into Sheffield for some aggressive dance moves and a curry.

Deffo one of the best stags I've been on, and I can heartily recommend the Marstons Burton Bitter at the scotsmans pack in Hathersage as a hair of the dog.
