We need a new TV as the current one is dying. I have no idea what flat screen modern thing I should be looking at and what brand is good. Anyone recommend one? Nothing bigger then 32" either, around £500, HD ready, can take SCART, HDMI etc.
That's a bit like asking "Recommend me a car" ... i.e. you need to state budget and stuff like what you want it to do.

I like my Sony. Freeview HD, iPlayer, and I can use one remote to control the TV, PS3, and surround amplifier.
Toshiba, Panasonic. If your budget can stretch to the higher models ('series 8'? maybe), Samsung.
Samsung LE32C530 for 300 quid .. very good value.. low input lag and save that 200 quid
