Or you could just buy a chihuahua and carry it in your handbag

My friend had a dog that could do that sort of mileage, running beside us.

It was brown.

Here's my Scottish Deerhound when he was younger. They don't get much bigger than this, so will be no trouble.

I'd never heard of those breeds before. The Kenyan Nosehound looks friendly though.

But probably a husky or an Australian Blue Heeler. Not many dogs capable of 40 miles.

My wolfhound is knackered after about 6 miles or so, even at my running/shambling pace.
