There's a bewildering array of stuff out there and I dont really know where to start. So, if you have any personal recommendations, I'd like to hear about them.

The basic requirements are:

Wireless (range at least 30m)
Contacts for front/rear doors
IR motion sensors for house & garage

We've got one of these - easy to fit, reliable so far, can turn off sensors upstairs and leave the downstairs ones on. After we got burgled I went straight out and got one, I know they're not completely secure due to being wireless but all you really have to do is make your house less attractive to burgle than next door - which I think this does for not much money!

wireless is not very good for alarm systems.
various problems with them that most scallies know about.

i can sell you a full wired system for less than the wireless one linked to.

Hmmm, my garage has no power and the quotes I've been given to provide power to it have been way more then I expected. I'm happy to have a wired system in the house but I need a wireless component for the garage. Will I have to get 2 separate systems, or can wired systems incorporate wireless bits?
