Any good recommendations on a board game that adults and 6yr old onwards can play?
frustration, everyone loves that game.
My lad loves carcassone. The field scoring is a bit complicated but that can be missed out. He loves frustration too.

Not a board game but Uno is great for that age and adults.
Rummikub is brill, cheap and easy to play
Ratuki is like a much better derivative of snap. Fast, disorderly but fun. Rewards tactical thinking surprisingly.
We played Articulate with some of our friends and their children, simple idea and great fun.
Chess? Have been very impressed with our 6 & 7 year old's ability to pick it up!

Amazing Labyrinth by Ravensberger. Tactical but fun at the same time.
My kids seem to like draughts.Simple but always fun,teaches them strategy too.After a week of playing it they very quickly get to grips with it and you no longer have to hold back on nicking their pieces.
Yep, good old chess.
Scrabble - yep seriously - is a great learning tool for young ones
