Looking for a walking/hiking backpack. Simple requirements are 10 or 12 litres ish in size, can carry a 2l bladder, some zip pockets, not silly money.

I’m in a research hole and need some help getting out of it. I suspect I’m in said hole as the requirements are quite straightforward and so there lots of option.

At the moment I’m looking at (but am not limited to):

Salomon TrailBlazer 10

Deuter Speed Lite 13

Deuter Race 12

Osprey Talon 11

Any other suggestions? Am I on the right track?

Unless the quality has gone downhill, the Osprey one. Last forever.

If you don't need a lot of volume, you could also look and some of the running vest style packs in that size - I find them more stable and the ability to carry soft flasks up front balances the weight out. Osprey stuff is always a safe bet.

For me its always been Osprey or Lowe Alpine, they are all still going strong.
