Need a tent for mountain biking trips to sleep at least 4 people. Looking for one that's easy to put up and stable, and most of all, cheap!

If you want a tent that is small enough to cycle tour then I can recommend a Wild Country Monsoon

Not really cheap, but well made, spacious and easy to put up. Great for cycle touring. You will probably get something cheaper if you want something to use for car based camping, but I am afraid I don't have any suggestions there 😕

to take in a car to events? Or to carry with you?

Outwell are cracking tents if you're using a car to carry. We have and Oregon5, which you can pick up for £150 and really is quite good, and a huge Nebraska XL.

Vang Orchy 400/500 or 600. Me and 'er indoors have got the 600 for camping trips. It's pretty spacious & you can get an extra canopy for it too if need be. We are gonna do that for the summer, I reckon. I think ours was £150.
