In the general forum spirit of positiveness I'm sure some of you are wonderfull people.

However if your the **** on the M27 yesterday afternoon who forced me into stoping mid way round a roundabout (if I'd not spotted you coming almost perpendicularly across the lanes I and the missus would be dead) before generaly causing mayhem and repeating the manouver at every possible oppertunity (ever seen someone cross 4 lanes of motorway to get from the sliproad to the fast lane then slam on their brakes as there sint room to filter into the fast lane?)

I'd just like to say that I genuinely hoped the tailback on the M3 was you burning to death in your personalised plated pice of crap.

But seeing as we saw you cutting accross the embankment to get to the service station and try and avoid the que we were sadly dissapointed. But did laugh when you had to rejoin the que behind us as the service station didn't rejoin the motorway straight away and was clearly more blocked up than the motorway 🙂

Well having one pretty much marks you out as a c**t anyway so you might as well drive like one 🙁

Yes, there is no vehicle on this earth that announces "I am a prick" quite so well as a Range Rover Sport.

Exactly. A guy down our road has one. He sometimes drives about in a DB9 - maybe he hires it or something.. and just cruises the cul-de-sac presumably trying to look cool. He's a decaying grossly overweight slob wearing too small old stretched out tshirts and shorts hitched under his swinging beer gut. Talk about incongruous.

thisisaspoon's post sound suspiciously like the RR Sport who overtook me on the white chevrons last week. She then had to cross to solid white lines to get around the lorry in front, forcing an oncoming car to swerve out of her way, sped down the dual carriageway (I was doing 60 and she was waaaay faster), pretty much repeated the manoeuvre at the far end of the d/c, went around a roundabout in the wrong lane and pulled into Tesco petrol station.

It really was the worst bit of driving I've seen for a long time.

Neat rant though.

Not wishing to judge, specially as im an absolutely useless driver, but some of the most extreme examples of motorised ****wittery ive ever seen have been behind the wheel of one of these.
There not even a very nice car.

I do not think they are as vulgar as the vogue (with the exception of the sugar pink one i have seen in Bonnybridge). Can't say I have noticed them being badly driven

Hmm, northern star.. that's a tough one. I think maybe the Range Rover wins though, because of an added hint of jingoism/BNP supporting due to its British background...

Nearly bought one a few years ago, lovely drive and plenty of presence.

But agree, other owners put me off - basically Chav UKLottery winners.

And the X6 must be bought by Chav EuroLottery winners!

Talking to a Land Rover chap a good while back, I always remember his phrase which I think sums it perfectly:

Sport's are for those that aspire to be.
Range Rovers are for those that are.

I still smile at that one when I jump in my RR, fnar fnar fnar wot wot wot. 8)

What? Norwich? Whatever gave you that idea? Are you confusing me with Alan Partridge?

plenty of presence

Is that 'presence' in the sense of makes you feel like a king cruising round in a great big worship me pimp mobile that can crush us puny mortals, cower in your wake sort of thing?

Take a very capable but slightly over luxury Range Rover, stick it in a hot wash, add stupid alloys that can't even go up a kerb, trim the price slightly, cover in chrome, sell it to well off chavs.

At least the X6 drives well - amazingly so given it's size. Pointless and hateful but like the Cayenne, actually quite good.

I always have X5 drivers down as the biggest c**ts on earth followed by Cayennes, RR Sports and then all other large, bull bar adorned 4x4s in order that reduces with size. I do dislike generalisations (generally) but 4x4 drivers do live up to their poor reputation for driving IME.

Firstly...I dont have a RR sport!! Funny after a bad experiences how people start clasifying others with stereotypes... I guess thats just human nature. Anyway thats where a lot of our other nasty habits and agressive views get justified...racism being just one obvious one... Please live and let live and try to judge people as individuals...that is much harder!

I don't think its any coincidence that the Manchester Range Rover dealership is next to Moss Side. They clearly know their market. I often wonder how many are paid for with suitcases of cash.

There's loads of the stupid big ****ing things around our way. All driven by absolute nobbers. And all with stupid bling rims, body kits and blacked out windows. And tacky private Plates obviously

Cock-chariots!!!

Radioman - great theory, problem is a lot of RR sport are driven badly and often dangerously (I've seen several of them cut at speed from the outside lane to an exit at the last moment). If they thought a bit harder about letting live and were more considerate you wouldn't see the criticism. And yes, I'm sure many RR sport drivers are wonderful human beings.

Im a bit "tyred" now got to go for zzz! on a lighter note I must say I do like the new RR Vogue ...massive money but a great car...got a lift in one a while back..i do agree though some "motorsport" type drivers are total nuts on the road...have been nearly knocked off bike loads of times by them....G'night all..

It's wrong but I like it. Never met anyone who drives one.

Oh yeah, needs [url=

pounding out the subwoofers too. As long as it's driven politely.

Hate the car with a passion, also hate full fat RR's too, how anyone can pay that much money for something of such poor quality I will never know. must be something about the brand as all the managers here that have them as company cars turn in to cocks when they get behind the wheel

I bet the bosses at Land Rover are laughing all the way to the bank. Think about it a RR sport is just a disco platform with a RR body on and they then charge more than the RR for it.
There are a lot of large 4X4 driven badly though not all just as there are a lot of mid size ex cars driven badly and for the recored i drive a large 4X4 but got it for its 7 seats and tend to drive quite slowly in it.

Falkirk-Mark - it also spends a lot of time in Alva...worryingly enough the only times I've seen it being driven is by a bloke - looks about mid-40s...I'm sure he is an owner of one of the bigger construction companies about that way...

Whenever I see those kind of large, flash SUV being driven aggressively (never seen one not being driven aggressively) I always assume that driver is too busy worrying about which of their loans they're going to pay a bit off this week and watching out for the repo man. It's quite understandable really, one must feel sorry for them.

I'm deliberately less likely to let somebody driving one of these in or out in front of me, because of their knobbish image.

Perhaps everybody else does the same and that's why they tend to be driven a bit knobbishly?

(with the exception of the sugar pink one i have seen in Bonnybridge).

Thats Jordons old car. Are you in the least bit surprised. It's now some rich chick from Westerwood that owns it. Even the leather in it is pink. Its disgusting!!

My 6 week old daughter is going for a day out in the back of Grandad's Range Rover Sport today, which is nice hope she doesn't barf over the upholstery, that said she seems to enjoy being in the back of my BMW, so I'm sure it will be fine.

Range Rover sport drivers definitely do not like getting overtaken by cyclists three times in a short space of time. Lots of revs to get back in front and then hug the pavement until the next set of lights and i am past again.
Of course the same is true of drivers in other types of car but a black RR sport with blacked out windows (gangsta) is the most memorable recent experience

These "Horrid" people who drive these machines keep me and 5000 others in a job at Solihull so I thank them and hope they enjoy their Sports. Very few of us are big bosses rolling in dosh.

Bad drivers are bad driver's - its not the car's fault that some nobs have got hold of them or are affected by them in a way that increases their nobishness.

They are great motors if a bit thirsty and I am quite proud that I have had abit to do with them and the Discovery over the years.
