One word quite frankly... AWESOME!

I know there's been a Dance take over for most of the day (sadly not been able to listen until now except for a bit of Annie Mac earlier), but I'm gonna struggle to go to sleep tonight! What a lineup... Churning out all the old classic D&B hits right now, but my god it looks like it's gonna be a proper head banger tonight...

THIS is what Radio 1 should be all the time... Get rid of all the tedious chart crap, devote it to all the specialist dance DJ's all the time! (in my dreams of course!) ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'd listen at breakfast time if it were Mr Tong instead of the usual idiot. Anyone else hear the pubquiz today? ๐Ÿ™‚

Been listening all day (bar the 2.5 hours i was on the bike)...I make no apologies for swearing, but, it's been ****ing superb....Annie Mac dropped a mix of Dennis Ferrer's Hey Hey i've not heard before as i was driving back from Cannock, how i didn't crash i do not know, the buzz of a great ride combined with that tune was awesome

Thank god for listen again!

Yes, the pub quiz was funny this morning. Prefer Pete Tong to Chris Moyles!

Hmmmm...

Can imagine how it goes...

1. In 2005 a Little known Australian D&B producer blow everyone out of the water from out of nowhere and take the scene by storm.
2. They try to go all Heavy Metal/Rock on our asses and turn Cack big time!
3. They return to their roots, and start making formulaic D&B (sounds formulaic now cos it's still the same as they made 5 years ago)...
4. Start working with Liam Howlett from the Prodigy and make shedloads of new celeb friends!

BORING!!!

Step 1 was interesting, but Pendulum have sucked BIG TIME everything since the Hold Your Colour Album IMO...

You're not the only one!

Just asked my housemate if he fancies sacking off work tomorrow too, and going on an all night session... He asked where, it's monday night... I dunno I replied, let's fire the decks up! We'll find somewhere for sure...

Don't think work would appreciate my excuse for not turning up tomorrow mind... ๐Ÿ˜‰

CHOOOOON!

I know it's as commercial as hell, but Shy FX and T Power's Shake Ur Body became an absolute anthem for me in my last year or so at uni... Reminds me of some real good times! ๐Ÿ˜€

I've turned it off now... I don't like drum and bass much, and I dislike mcs shouting all over the top of a perfectly good record. Having said that he was playing some good stuff, mixing some well-respected choons there.

Trance, happy hardcore, dance for me!

Karin

I'll have to email you some of my mixes... Reckon you'd love em, I've been DJing House, Electro and Breaks for years now... Used to be massively into Trance in the late 90's too, before it all got a bit airy fairy.

Will agree D&B is an acquired taste, I didn't used to be able to get on with any at all. I love most of it these days though! It's taken perhaps 10 years of experimenting, but these days I pretty much can't get enough. Unless it's some mega hard D&B though... If it's too evil, I don't like it. The kind of stuff that's been on Radio 1 mostly tonight though, the "funkier" element of D&B (with a few old classics thrown in too) is bloody awesome IMO! And this Jaguar Skills mix is perhaps the best thing I've heard all year so far anywhere!

LOL

You and me both Rich!

That's just unfair now that Jaguar Skills has finished... They've put Fabio and Grooverider on!

I NEED TO GO TO SLEEP, I HAVE WORK IN THE MORNING! Does Radio 1 not know this? Where's the boring chart tripe when I need it to make me stop listening and go to bed? ๐Ÿ˜•

For anyone who's interested, expect over the next couple of days I'll be recording the whole of today's radio shows, especially the D&B shows, and will try and get it all saved as MP3's and either host it somewhere or put it on a CD... If you're interested like! ๐Ÿ˜‰

As and when I do it mate, it'll be the highest quality I can do. Of course though the original source quality might totally render that redundant, as iirc digital radio is streamed at 96kbps or less sadly!
