I used to do "Vessel Entry" boiler inspections inside the pressure vessel on AGR's (Advanced Gas Cooled Reactors), within feet of the core. I used to get a dose of around 1000 microseiverts (1mSv) per entry. I think the most dose I got in one year was 6 or 7 mSv.
