after a light weight warm, pertex coat. these 2 fit the bill and are £80 and £70 respectively.
which (in your opinion) is best performance, vfm, and looks wise?
I have a Prism (not a 2 though) and love it- quickly become one of my most-used bit of kit, for hillwalking, backpacking and biking. Dunno what you're expecting to get out of it but it seems to handle a huge range of conditions very well.
The Rab one sounds very similar (although I dunno how much insulation my Prism has) so TBH you could probably just get whichever you like best/fits best and be happy.
blimey you must run cold if you wear a prism for biking!
I have the Mk1 Prism.
Useful bit of kit as it packs down really small into its own pocket. Also has hood. It's comparable in warmth to a lightweight fleece jacket. I've a feeling the Rab is warmer but not as compressible. A hood is a big plus for me.
Might be able to swing your decision. A mate of mine lives near to the Montane factory shop and gets extra discount on the prices. On production of his Warrant card (they also do discount to water fairies and NHS)
As an example, I got an Extreme smock with removeable hood for £47. RRP c£90.
PM me with size and colour if you want a Prism. I'll get him to pop in and see if they have one and get a price. We can sort out the financial aspect if you do want one.
The jackets etc [b]aren't seconds by the way, they just run a shop next to the office.
I have emailed you notlocal - muchos gracias 🙂

Well, it needs to be pretty cold out but if there's snow on the ground it's the dogs with a merino base layer under it.
Also I do a lot of biking from the train and it's dead handy to have in my Camlebak for waiting around.
ROFL, just back from hospital. I'll give my mate a shout tonight once I get home to check my mail. Can't access it on the works steam pron-o-gram.
thanks - really appreciate it
I've got a Rab Generator - £50 from Go Outdoors when I got them to price match Cotswolds.
Lovely bit of kit - bought it mainly for winter riding for lunch stops, punctures etc. Also take it camping and walking as it compresses down quite nicely.
