[#10607755]

I've made £1k out of Quidco over maybe 14 years.

I recently got car insurance saving £49 odd through it but the cashback hasn't tracked and no response to my query about it. I'm in time to cancel.

Are other sites more reliable?

I've never had an issue with TCB.

Advance warning for other posters, referral links are verboten remember.

Just keep yanking your money when you get paid. If they did go belly up I imagine you'd have zero chance of claiming your balance. I have stuff tracking on Quidco at the mo as per the expected schedule (from mid-March).

£1700 here 🙂

Has anyone had any luck with boom25?

We bought some furniture from Next recently and they weren't on TCB or Quidco so thought we might as well go through boom25.

Going through this ATM with quidco, Took car insurance out from AA via quidco, now they are saying the £50 cashback has been declined. 🤨

Annoyingly if I cancel I'll have a claim (no fault) to admit to as my 2nd car got dented today.

I think that sthe sites are starting to get wise to cash back deals..... I've had a couple of insurance purchases not track before.
But the worst one is sky. Wanted to get new phone with sky mobile as they had a £125 cash back deal, but when redirected through quidco the sky site says I have to phone customer services.... But its fine if I don't go through quidco......

Mixed results with both, but to date, TCB has paid out on more claims.

Amazon joined Quidco sometime before last Xmas, but they made in damn difficult, splitting up Amazon into different departments and your cashback claim can be voided by mixing a basket between departments. :/

Plus these days, it's actually worth checking overall purchase price with and without using a cashback link, it's not uncommon to find a direct link works out cheaper.

Was always the deal. Shop normally, check quidco then go shopping via a suitably cookie cleaned browser (insurance and hotels.com slightly different).

My purchases are often not tracked with either Quidco or TCB but the claims process works pretty consistently and I think I've only had 1 declined out of about 20.

They do take time though. Sometimes it can be months, especially for things that you are in the cooling off period for such as yours.

I get that Kami, just irritating that they've not responded to my query within a week.

May try TCB

I've been with TCB for probably about 10 years - had £1.1k cashback in that time

Very occasionally the cashback gets declined or doesn't track, but that hasn't happened for a good few years now

I use TCB several times a month, mostly for the same few companies every time

Use TCB regularly and had no problems. I stay in hotels for work regularly. Its often a choice between TCB or the hotels own points scheme. I generally opt for TCB as it seems to work out better in the long run.
We leave the money in and then take it out in November - that's the cash for the kids presents. Last year we ended on £700, currently got £400 sat in there.

I use QuidCo and last year they were pushing/promoting a voucher site called Zeek with top-up bonuses.

I withdrew about £250 into vouchers and then silently (and without warning) Zeek went bust and I lost all my money 🙁

Although no fault of QuidCo they quickly washed their hands of Zeek and have been absolutely useless in trying to help me recoup my money. Customer support is a bit pants IMO.

I did the zeek thing but screen shotted all the vouchers and codes I bought.

Still worked, as it was the retailer that held the voucher accounts.

Seems using free money to get even more free money was too good to be true.

Bar Amazon, John Lewis and MS vouchers that occasionally come my way I can't stand the things and will take a reduced amount of cash over vouchers anytime. As for

Last year we ended on £700, currently got £400 sat in there.

, there's nooooooooo way I'd leave that amount in someone else's account. Take 10 mins opening a Monzo/Starling account and drop it in there sharpish.

I’ve had stuff not follow through before but it is what it is (free cash)

Personally I wouldn’t buy car insurance etc expecting to get £100 in cash back because 9/10 times you can get it that cheap anyhow

I’m just about to top £5k of Quidco earnings. I usually leave it there until I want something that has a top up voucher like my roadbike from Halfords but I’ve been hearing rumblings that Quidco are in trouble so I withdraw monthly now.

I didn't convert it into vouchers before they went bust, unfortunately (was going to use it to get myself a PS4 and hadn't chosen the retailer).

But yes, more free money from free money was too good to be true, rather annoyingly!

Also no sign of a cash back re car insurance using TCB comparison tool, not even pending. Conversely I've £42 pending from motorcycle insurance and I'd only got a quote. Considering the insurance is only £125 this is pretty good.

Just looked at the QC support page, apparently using a lot of tabs may **** it up.

I've had very few knockbacks from quidco over several years and when I have, appealing them has about a 50:50 success rate (but you have to notice that the seller has declined within a few weeks or it's too late)

Often the knockbacks have been on already special offers and since I never read T&C I'm guessing there have been exclusions in there (black friday special prices etc)

I've had a couple of annoying ones with TCB- I bought 2 identical items 2 days apart and one logged, the other got rejected. All they'd say was "the seller rejected it for reasons"

But most of the time it's just free money, I don't often buy things because of it, so I don't stress. It used to be a lot of things didn't register but these days it seems pretty reliable.

Admittedly I haven't implemented one for a while but it always used to be the the retailer had to setup code on their site to enable the tracking to work. I.e. they always knew that cashback was available (where do you think the money comes from?). Cashback sites are ultimately just a way for retailers to drive traffic to their sites and the cost of this is considered when pricing items. You might think your saving but ultimately the consumer is paying somewhere along the line 😜).

I for one don't expect many of these sites to last that long. Suspect that ultimately the business model won't be sustainable.
