[#8285603]

So I've had 3/4 of a can of 50:1 2 stroke mix kicking about in the garage for quite some time now and no longer have the machinery that it was destined for.

It will be alright adding this to say... 3/4 of a tank (40ltrs) in a car won't it??

Pretty sure I know the answer but thought I'd ask anyway

Cheers

"Probably" it's OK - but only probably and the cost of repairing any damage is so high for such a small gain that I wouldn't.

Probably what he said, just keep it for cleaning chains or something.

A modern car might not like it, but an old one should be fine , if a little smoky. What is it?

If its really old then it'll have turned into something resembling turps by now.

If it's been sat for years it's probably expired anyway, petrol has a shelf life of about two years IIRC.

Just stick a litre in every time you fill the tank. It won't do any harm at all.

As I thought, not worth it. Fuel mix is 12 -18 months old.

Wasn't thinking of a gain - just to get rid in a useful way.

Maybe I'll use it for chains and the like or the summer BBQ 😉

Fill a bucket with sand. Pour petrol into sand filled bucket. Light.

If mixed with one shot of oil then its only 100ml of oil diluted, im ultra accurate mixing for a stihl saw that never misses a beat and often use that petrol if im runnin g short on a 4 stroke, looking forward to hearing what damage im doing to the 4 strokes other than maybe a wee bit gum on the carburettor , the Stihl gets treated like royalty by the way

do it all the time.. not an issue.. use everything from used car oil to top spec 2st oil in my premix makes no difference.. get it in safest way to dispose of it.. no good for cleaning chains etc as all it does is evaporate and leave the cack still on it.. use diesel for cleaning.. loverly jubbly
