/first world problems

I want to output this at 1080p, but the stream keeps dropping. I would have thought all the money Redbull evidently has, they could have bought some better servers.

No visor heat.... will he have to jumps early, and I note they've cut the sound. He complained about visor heat a while ago as well.

The capsule on n-tv is about 300m higher than the one on the Redbull livefeed.

Edit: to remove proof of my lack of observation skills

right, I didn't really pay much attention in the rare times that I attended school, so could someone answer a question for me..

Is there even the slightest chance that instead of falling back to Earth, he'll like, be too far out to be effected by enough gravity, and like, maybe he'll go into orbit or something..? ๐Ÿ˜•

I was just wondering how far up you have to be before the Earth's gravity is no longer strong enough to pull him back...

I guess they've taken that into consideration!

Yunki, he's not travelling fast enough, or going high enough to achieve orbit.

@glupton1976

The stream is on Redbull's YouTube Channel, so should be reachable.

@davidjones

Don't be a nob. Let's try and keep petty bickering, for once, out of STW thread.

davidjones - I am watching it without any problems on my mac, just wondering if it's worth the hassle of telling the kids that their movie is going off....

The closest point at which you are no longer capable of being captured by Earths gravity would be the Earth-Moon L1 point - That's over 300,000km away ๐Ÿ™‚

While not quite on par with the moon landings, I think you should force the kids to watch a man jumping from 23 miles up.

As an aside, it's quite stunning that we have reached a stage where a fizzy drink maker is running an event to the edge of space.

It's worse than that, we have a record label running trains, an airline, a TV network and a bank.....

Love stuff like this, its people like this who got us to the moon.

Just think, if we stopped fighting amongst each other and worked together, we'd probably have reached Jupiter by now
