I've got a signed copy of that. 'cept for FS, he was tucking into his rider when the rest of the band signed it for me

Excellent show. Good variety especially unfashionable punk bands. And it is supposed to be a bit hardcore surely...

I'm only commenting on my tastes. I thought the Undertones at least was not punk at all.

Yeah, they were a punk band who knew how to write pop songs.

Hmmm, is there a definition of punk then?

looks like a can of worms opening here ๐Ÿ˜€

was punk the music, the attitude or both? where do you draw the line between punk and new wave? should you draw a line? undertones' music certainly could fit the 'punk' description easy enough, but the image of clean cut lads with side partings who youd be happy to introduce to mummy and daddy? were boomtown rats punk? same as undertones id say, to some yes, to others no.

as ever with music, best to just accept it for what it is i think rather than pigeonhole stuff. altho obviously some bands were most obviously bang on the money ๐Ÿ˜€

I had this conversation with someone the other day, what was punk and what wasn't.

She floundered a bit when I asked her about the "second wave" of bands like Discharge, Chron Gen, Crass and the Exploited.

Far to much navel gazing going on at the moment I think.
