Hasn't 'music' like that been around for decades? And for some reason this bunch have managed to make it 'big time'? Fella at work was banging on at me for ages to listen to them. I did. And I nearly tore my ears off to end the misery...
Theres always someone who "makes it big time" which can only mean a number of people like it. If everyone like the same stuff, we would only need one band, one design of bike, car etc. etc.
If you don't like a sound, you don't have to start ranting about peeling yourself or pulling your ears off, just don't listen to it, say to your mate, can you turn it down its not my thing. or don't hit the red button.
