Just helped out a friend who has a brand new house that has just been flooded from a burst pipe in the roof cavity.
On investigation mice had got into the void in the downstairs rooms and knawed the plastic elbows of some of the speedfit type plastic piping. I was talking to the loss adjuster and the vermin control guys who turned up to look at the damage. Both of them say they see a lot of it and neither would have the stuff in their house due to risk of vermin damage.
I know someone who had the same problem with squirrels getting into their roof.
I know someone who had the copper gas pipe from the meter round to the side of his house nicked while it was still pumping and they were asleep upstairs.
those mice just can't be trusted midlifecrashes...
until folk stop buying dodgy copper pipe from mices, this sort of thing will continue.
