Last summer I had to put a fence up in our garden to stop Jnr FD falling down a stone wall.

However this now means that every time we want to go in to the garden we walk over the same piece of grass which is now turning in to a bit of a muddy path.

Is there anything I can out down to help protect the existing grass (that remains) and stop mud being transferred in to the house?

Ive used this stuff, under gravel rather than grass but it works with grass too.

ACO Ground guard. You'd need to lift the turf, make good underneath, lay the ground guard and lay soil and seed.
Its not that expensive - esp on account from a builders merchant.
