I still find it hard to believe that somebody could wear anything regularly for months without reaching that point. But clearly some folk can
I’m guessing these people are all single and likely to remain so?
Because I’m damn sure that if I tried wandering around in the same item of clothing for weeks, never mind months on end, the decision on whether they were getting washed or not would have been taken out of my hands 😂
Yeah… that’s what shes telling you mate, but we all know the real secret weapon…

😉
Why buy anything else?

Because they're cheap for a reason? No such thing as a free lunch.
"According to Oxfam's 2019 report, "Made in Poverty - The True Cost of Fashion", this company sources from Bangladesh and Vietnam. Some of the many disturbing findings of the research in Bangladesh were that 100 per cent of workers interviewed were not paid a living wage, nine out of ten could not afford enough food for themselves and their families until their next monthly pay and seven out of 10 could not pay for medical treatment when they were sick or injured. In Vietnam, 99 per cent were not paid a living wage and seven out of 10 women interviewed felt their pay was not enough to meet their needs.

It is a good provocation.
A lens to apply to all purchases, the challenge being to get an objective and balanced view.
Bought my first pair of HebTroCo jeans the other week. Cracking quality. Well happy with them. I intend to wear them for a year before I wash them to get a cool contrast on the fade. I’m single though so don’t give a ****. First thing I did though was get in the shower with them on then go and sit in the sun until dry after doing a few lunges. Fit like a glove now.

Mrs Reeksy sews her own clothes (including jeans) using fabric from a company that sources the remnants from the textile industry. She's the person who told me to put jeans in the freezer.
My problem though is that all of my trousers wear out where my thigh gap isn't, long before the rest of the fabric. Even motorbike kevlar reinforced jeans wear out in that spot. Drives me nanas.

Blimey the things single people get up to!
😂
What’s this thing about putting them in the freezer?
Supposedly kills the bacteria that live on unwashed jeans. YMMV
Also why hanging them out on the line on sunny days is good for them.
Well now what am I going to do with the clothes chest freezer 🤷

And then wonder why they're single 😉
(I'm also single, but don't have the time or inclination for any of that shit)
I am struggling to beat Levi's at around £30. I like 511 and 513. 513 doesn't have lycra or the likes but 511 does. They wear equally well and last equally well, as in for years and years.
So you shouldn't put them in the wash but you should get in the shower with them on 🙂

Where are you getting Levi's for £30! 1984! 🙂
Plenty for 30 quid on ebay.
Are they legit. I'd put a shiny penny on no.

I just got a new genuine 511 for £23 delivered, and it's not even an unpopular size (32/32).
So you shouldn’t put them in the wash but you should get in the shower with them on 🙂
And then, to reduce the odour, put your piss-stained (and almost certainly skid-marked*) trousers in the freezer alongside the food you're planning to eat over the next few weeks.
* because if you wear your jeans for a year solid then who knows how long your undies have been on you.
😀

Link please! 😀
I couldn’t find 513 on the Levi site?
They're special ones, only available for afficionados. If you can't find them, it's because you're not allowed to 😉

But that's only four days. Amateurs 🙂
I’ve got a vision now of the denim purists getting out of the shower and climbing into a chest freezer in their sopping wet jeans 😃
Link please! 😀
It's sold now. Was up for £25 so offered £20 which they accepted. £3 postage. I paid £27 for one a few weeks ago. Have a search on eBay they're is always a good deal for one.
Anything £30 or under for a genuine Levi's is enough to prevent me from looking elsewhere.
Levi’s (and Wranglers) can be had for 30-40 quid a pop in TK Maxx
With regard to all this showering, sitting in baths and freezers nonsense, do you not think that your jeans fit best when they’re freshly laundered and just off the washing line? I know I do.
Surely if you’ve been wearing them for weeks you’ve just got a massive sack-arse?
And then wonder why they’re single 😉
No wondering here. I’ve done my sentence. Been out with some cracking ladies over years but I’ve had enough, I’ve done my time. Hopefully if I keep my head down it will stay that way. Wearing jeans for a year might help that 💪
Getting jeans wet by the way is not going to affect the colour. I didn’t like have a wash in them. I hope anyway 🤔

Me too. I’ve got some Levi’s and some Lee jeans that look perfect when they’re fresh on. Then after about an hour they go all saggy dad-jeans 😠
@b33k34 - yes. It's called the Fabric Store
It's based in NZ and Oz, but they have an international site.
So you shouldn’t put them in the wash but you should get in the shower with them on 🙂
If you read the Grauniad article it says you don't need to get in the shower with them on either as the current fabrics don't shrink to fit anyway.

Not at all they feel crunchy and not at all flexible.
Day 1 after washing is the worst day ever.
Forget all this denim nonsense, Scruffs workpants is where its at.
Diesel make great, long lasting, fashionable jeans which I do wash regularly.
