Can anyone on here suggest me a printer (not neccesarily colour one) that:

- is cheap to purchase.
- does not stop working as soon as warranty runs out
- is not costing a fortune in replacement cartridges
- is not using cartridges that have chips on them that prevent you from using cheaper cartridges (and gives errors/stop working if you do due to warranty issues)

I have a Canon S820 here which just requires a photo cyan cartridge and comes with a spare cyan, never put a foot wrong or required any maintenance whatsoever. Also at work there's an Epson R300 that the boss brought in that's going spare with a full pack of catridges and some singles, if your interested drop us a line and I'll could get one sent off to you for the postage?

What do you class as cheap?

You can pick up a Laserjet 4000 or 4100 on eBay for £85 with a low page count and 6 month warranty (or much less without). They're designed to run 50k plus pages per month for years and a £25 toner cartridge will do 6000 pages.
