Can you recommend me a decent sushi/noodle bar in bristol.

For a errm friend of mine, somewhere near the bar on a boat would be good.

First i've heard of the Thekla in years, good times a plenty on that old hull.

So what can you recommend, guessing park street area or Clifton village..

Wagamama on The Triangle (bit pricier)

Beijing Bistro - the best value noodle bar in Bristol, Park Street. Not fancy, but you get served in a shot and you'll by full to bursting for less than £20 a head.

Other than that, shitloads of generic chinese/thai restaurants all over the place.

One thing about the BB, you always see lots of oriental folk eating in there which means it can't be bad.

Do you actually want a gay bar recommendation?

Someone talking about the Queens Shilling???

Walked in there one time with a group of mates only to look around and find the place full of women.

That was one quick pint before moving on.

Moses, Queen shilling that's the one iirc.

Was the Elephant back up by the car park more?

I was working in frogmorton st and frequented the hatchett, bunch of grapes and The toad???? or something along those lines......awesome cellar system under there, had a few quick tours from the bar girl down there, so dark and damp it was...

Thanks for all the suggestions, will forward them and any others..

I've had a very nice meal at Budokan. Not sure where in Bristol it is though, it's just down the hill from zerodegrees but I have no idea where that is relative to anything else.

Be careful with offers of gay bars and food,,, you can guarantee its a pillow they want you to bite on and the only thing remotely like food you'll be getting is a sausage sandwich.

The Budokan is good, yes, just up from the COlston Hall, 5 mins walk from the centre.

Budokan's great, I was going to suggest it, but simon_g beat me to it. There's a Wagamama up the top of Park Sreet, just past the Museum, but Budokan is much closer to the Thekla. Actually, the Thekla serves a blinding pizza for not a lot of money. Who you gonna see there?

There's also a decent Chinese place on the other side of the road to Obento on Baldwin Street.

Budokan is on Colston Street.

And there's a new Singaporean noodle bar on Whiteladies Road opposite the old cinema.

There's also a new oriental place (Thai I think) in the new development that used to be Bristol & West opposite the Watershed.
