We're in the process of building a potting shed/workshop type thingy and we've reached the point of deciding what roof material to put on it, corrugated is still and option but thinking probably 10mm twinwall. We want to be able to grow stuff in it but also not die of heat stroke on a warm day. Opal only lets through 30-40& of light which doesn't seem like a great deal. Has anyone got clear poly on the whole roof and what is it like?

Theres a reason they use it on greenhouses ๐Ÿ˜‰

TBH as long as you have good ventilation for working in it shouldn't be too bad, it's the lack of air movement that is the killer.

I have translucent (ie you can't see through it, but most of the light comes through?) twin wall on my shed roof. It's ace.

There's a two or three inch gap under the bottom edge of the polycarbonate for ventilation, and it's great to work in in the summer with the shed doors open.

the only thing that stops it being perfect is that a neighbour is complaining that light is reflecting off the roof and into his bedroom window (about 70m away)...
