[#13159544]

Next week I’m going with my mother to see Hamilton at the Palace Theatre Manchester.

We’re getting the train to Manchester Picadilly.

We’d like somewhere nice to get lunch roughly in between the two locations.

Quite a lot of places on the Time Out website seem to be closed.

Any recommendations please?

There’s a Wagamama up in St Peter’s square.

just a bit further up, in Spinningfields is 20 stories which is nice for dinner, not been there for lunch but they have an example menu

almost next door to the Palace is The Refuge.

little further down Oxford street is Hatch - though this is more street food and might be a bit damp and chilly next week.

or just walk down Portland street on your way from Piccadilly and see if there’s something that takes your fancy?

@brokenbanjo it’s a bit far out of the way, but thanks.

@duncancallum budget not so important, but we wouldn’t be wanting a mandatory 20 course tasting menu.

@prettygreenparrot The Refuge looks like a possibility.

20 Stories is an impressive place to eat with great views over Manchester or Cloud 23 just for drinks and nibbles.

Id have suggested Don Giovannis, good Italian just up the road. Went there before seeing Hamiliton a few weeks ago. Great show terrible seats, was in pain at the interval.

Hawksmoor is a top choice for the meat friendly diner.  Less good for the non-meat-atarian

Yeah, I can’t see anyone taking a vegan there. 😂

Lovely restaurant though. Good call!

I'd disagree having been there before I went to see Hamilton with my mother (in law). Its average and over priced. Hawksmoor sounds like a better option. Other places I'd suggest are

Higher Ground on New York Street

Beeswing at Kampus - Lovely tapas from the baxaturi team

and if you have time for coffee beforehand then Pollen at Kampus is excellent

PS - hope you enjoy the show, its one of my favourites

Great show terrible seats, was in pain at the interval.

Would agree with this. the palace is a bit , um, snug.
