My trusty c702 died in the downpours last week while at work, turns out the waterproof jacket ain't so...
Sony-E have decided to discontinue this one (which I thought was ace) and now I can't get anything that's tough (splash/dust proof), has gps and a sport tracker type app on it.
Vodafone have graciously offered to replace it with a choice of 'fashion phones' (my term!) for an insurance excess charge of £25 and I just cannot decide whether to pick one (and if so which one), or tell them I am not happy with any of them. Trouble is that I really need a phone, but I reckon that none of these will last 5 minutes out on site (tree surgeon).
So does anyone have any of these, and how good / rubbish / tough are they?

Thanks.

Would you not be better off with something like this:

Funnily enough they did suggest as an option, but I'm cheesed off that there's nothing as good as what I had available...i.e. no gps on it etc. Even though it makes most sense to get that sort of thing, I signed the contract for the phone I wanted, and that one would seem like a big step backwards =(

First look at Cnet UK reviews to decide on the phone. Then get one of THESE. As long as you have a phone with proper buttons you can use it inside the case

I've got a C902 - seems to work OK & has a 5 megapixel camera. Just remember to turn off 3G if you want decent battery life between charges. Some folks don't like the buttons (not a problem for me) and earlier software versions had 'issues', but later versions (like mine) seem fine. 'Phone is very slim & fits in pocket easily (no unsightly bulges!).

2nd the c905. Now they seem to have ironed out the initial problems it's a great phone. Camera's fantastic (for a phone!), GPS is useable, MP3 player's pretty good too. Really nice screen.

Oh, and it works well as a phone 🙂

edit - and it's got the sports tracker, pedometer & other software on it too!
