Someone gave my kids a PS4 game called Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare. It seems like it only works if you have PlayStation Plus, which one must pay for. Is this correct, or is there a way to play it without?

I'm sure this is the free one that relies on PS+ to function.
Edit: It seems even the paid version requires PS+ even for the solo play.

It was free with PS+ ages ago but to play it you need to keep our PS+ account. A PS+ account can be shared with more than one user too which allows you share any digital games too.
