Why do they make all these programs with pink and blue backgrounds.
Example?
Lottery thing I'm watching now, magic show before, anything presented by G Norton or J Ross. In fact just about any Friday / Sat night show type TV.
it's just the telly version of a bling glass cabinet in your Lbs. ooh, look at it! or maybe cos nowadays there are millions of channels to flick through, and the garish ones just stand out as you are flipping? anything to get your dumb attention?
So why have they decided blue and pink will best attract my dumb attention.

not your attention in particular! it's just big bright backgrounds and shouting and lights, just like The Price is Right! Sarurday eve telly's always been a bit like that I think.
A bit like all the CYM magazine covers you see in newsagents:
