Well, I've been here for 13 years, I suppose I'm due a photoshop request.

A friend of mine wants a panorama that I made in high resolution to print out and frame as a birthday gift for her boyfriend. The problem is the panorama was made on some free online software and is only 270kb or so, which is going to be no use. I don't have the ability or the software to do it. The only place that I know photoshopists exist is on here. Could someone please, in this order, do the following-

1) Bugger about with it, put bears on it, make it into a gif etc. etc. etc.

then

2) Stitch the 3 photos together?

Microsoft image composite editor should do it. Very easy to use and free.

....if only Jamie was still here.

Anyway, plenty of free/cheap software to do this. You on PC or MAC?

Yeah, I was going to suggest MS ICE. (Googling that produces some ... interesting image results, so here's a link.)

PC, I tried finding free software that made a hi-res image but came up short and use dermandar.com's free tool. I'm downloading Composite Editor as I type, thanks Nickjb.

Well, that was boring. ICE was a great success, thanks.

+1 for autostitch above. Input the full size images then crank all the settings up to 11 to get a hi-res image out!

Aha, those are much more like it. I particularly like DezB's effort, so no, it wasn't wasted time.
