[Closed] Photoshop & Premiere Elements 8?

I've got an Amazon voucher to use up within the next month and was just about to submit my order for the Photoshop & Premiere Elements 8 bundle when I started to read some reviews. Lots of reports of shocking performance on newer Windows 7 PCs, its making me wonder whether I just buy an older v7 or look for something else entirely? Any one here experienced it?

I only need it for home photo & HD movie editing (small clips taken with compact camera) and I've got a new Windows 7 laptop (Intel i5, 4Gb RAM). Thanks.
