[Closed] Photoshop - hue, saturation or what?

I took a couple of pics for the weekly photo thread.

one came out quite well (well for a phone pics by an amateur), the other is too blue so the snow isn't white. I can Photoshop the pic to get the snow white but then the blue of the frame is washed out. So how should I be adjusting it or is it just a limitation of my phone?

good

what version are you using?

you could edit the jpg in the raw editor and adjust the white balance colours and then adjust hue and saturation of the individual colours (depends on version)

Try googling for 'remove a blue cast in photoshop' something like this: http://www.sitepoint.com/remove-a-color-cast-with-photoshop/ will help.

Colour balance. It has separate settings for highlights/midtones/shadows so will not effect the blue of the frame.

use lab colour and levels to get rid of a colour hue.

As MrSmith suggests, use colour balance.

...even though this quick example with Pixalmator still has a whiff of the instagrams about it.

In Photoshop: Image>Adjustments>Selective Colour.

Select 'whites' (or maybe neutrals) from the menu and take the blue out using the slider.

I used to use the dropper, selecting something that should be a neutral grey, using the black/white/neutral boxes. Tricky to explain, I haven't done it for some years, but it was a good way of removing colour casts. Trouble with snow is it does often get a blue cast to the shadows if the sky is clear.

A couple of seconds with colour balance, contrast and (brillo) which would be brightness, I think.

In the latest version of photoshop select- Image->Adjust->Badger.

I find it sorts out most photos easily:
