I saw this on the telegraph website (I love the animal galleries). Whilst not a technically amazing pic, I think it's a wonderful metaphor for life.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/picturegalleries/8201931/The-Big-Picture-photography-competition-round-133.html?image=14
I wish I could save a copy. Is there a way? (just for my personal use of course).

From a shoot I did today. Crap weather but most of it was internal fortunately.

This one is very cool

Just got a Canon 5D (MK I) - had my first play with it today and it seems pretty nice. Got some fancy new lenses too - can't wait to go and have a proper play.

My effort (with a Canon EOS400) looking out over Winter Hill from the office window Yesterday morning, as the snow clouds roll in from saddleworth. Weather looked a bit peaky. Posted again cos I'm well chuffed with it 🙂

Canon 17-40 f4 L, 70-200 2.8 L, Sigma 50 1.4, and I've got a Tamron 28-75 2.8 on order as well 😀

Nice. The only 'L' I have is the 24-105, but I do have some lovely Olympus OM lenses I use - 18/3.5, 50/1.4, 200/4, and a Tamron 90/2.5 macro.

I've still not worked out what my next lens will be. Probably either a 70-200/4 or a Sigma 150-500. Whilst that olympus 200 is a lovely lens it's so tricky to get things focussed properly.

Are those OM lenses manual focus? Quite enjoy manual focussing for some things but with a long lens it's not great.

Really liking this 5D, apart from the bloody dust spots on the sensor! The 17-40L is insanely sharp.

My local Cash Converters has a Canon 1D MK2 in for £500, how I wish I had a spare £500.

Froze my balls off taking these two HDR's today:

Generally don't bother with HDR's as they usually turn out crap anyway. Makes a change to have a couple actually work.

Yup, they are. No issue for the wide angle or macro because I'm usually fiddling about for ages anyway. The 50/1.4 can bit a bit of a pain to focus unless stopped down (although I do have a nifty fifty too), but the 200 is a lovely lens, it's just impossible to focus it on anything that's moving. I'm sure with a proper prism viewfinder like the OM1 it was designed for, this would be easier...

rocketdog.. surely you're not proud of that? And Count Zero.. you have taken a photograph of what appears to be a giant willy

That's a damn good pic rd, how the heck did you take it?
And yunki, that's a chuffin' great stone weighing some seven tons in Avebury, I'm sure it's phallic appearance from that angle is not inappropriate. It's a totally different shape from the side, however.

Here are a couple I got tonight. I like them, but think they could be a lot better.

Some quick and dirty edits to try to emphasise the dark and gloomy nature of the weather. I should probably have spent much longer on them, but I'm quickly loosing patience with the idea that I'll be a full year behind at this rate if I don't hurry up with the processing!

Love the first two there zokes.

Grumm - the robin shot is excellent. The small flash of red really draws the eye.

Sharki - who asked you to stop taking photos in the pub?

Here's one from sunny Kirkcaldy this afternoon.

Stuart. The landlord.
He was concerned as there was customers in the direction the camera was pointing.
Which was true as i wanted them drinking and out of focus in the shot.

Fair enough he was just avoiding complaints from his punters.

Ta :). Wasn't sure if the robin was too small - it does look better bigger

zokes - what do you use for PP? I find it very quick to do in Lightroom 3.

i cycled to fife from edinburgh today. it was really great. this is a shot from the fife forth road bridge viewing platform. it was only about half one but fife was shrouded in fog/low cloud - hence the sun looking like a nighttime moon...

Grumm - LR2 at the moment. Trying to persuade the OH that CS5 and LR3 are necessities, but buying my wideangle lens seems to to have affected that argument somewhat. Picking up my shiny Gitzo CF tripod when I'm back in the UK too - looks like software will have to wait. Sadly, I've run out of affiliations with universities so will have to pay full whack for it 🙁
