Request sent
here's my first photo
Think I'm going to have a go at this, though I've not taken todays and I've got no idea where to start. I'll send a Flickr request tomorrow.
Request sent. Looking forward 2 using my new A37 SLT on a regular basis.
I've requested, will I get email back, or what?
Shouldn't take long, Greg. Just needs an admin to OK your request then you'll get a FlickrMail message to tell you you're in (might also go to your regular email).
OK that's 40-ish new members accepted to the one photo a day group, mostly from here, and some great first day photos appearing.
I'm in
100 😀
Heres my first week (started a little before new year)
http://adayatatime-lardy.blogspot.co.uk/
Anyone know how to insert an image from the blogger sites?
Is it ok to have fun with a photo in manipulation software and use that, I mean are there rules on pureness 🙂
Edit away!
Only rule is "add one photo a day" (and, obviously, respect others).
Perfect 🙂 and thanks
Thought you had to go to the threads bit once a month and vote on something too?
There are "photo of the month" threads that get posted in the group where you can nominate your best shot for that month and then vote on which your favourite was by other members. Winner is the shot with the most votes.
Participation entirely optional.
Been a bit limited for options - and using phone cam at mo, but joined the Flikr group, so here's day one 01/01/2013 - Mrs STR early hours of New Years Day

Might do this...but don't have a Flickr account. Do I need one?
Will re-read this thread....!

I'm doing a year (hopefully) of phone camera pics
I expect the majority of my pictures to be camera phone pictures.
If I keep,it up mine will be mostly phone camera pics but the iP5 has a superb camera, to be fair.....
Joined the group and doing it. Its crawling with mountain bikers.... 😯
My Galaxy Note appears to have a pretty poor camera - in low light anyway. Fantastic piece of kit, let down a bit by the camera
Quality unimportant unless you want it to be (like I pretend to).
It's all about documenting an entire year of your life and, other than that, the parameters are pretty open.
I've put my request in at last and have been taking photos since the 1st.
Thanks

I don't......

I've also started this, on my blog is a gallery that I'll update.
http://adventure-ti.me/gallery/project2013/
Now signed up, but not added the pics to a specific set. Might do some light editing tomorrow before getting them put in a 'pic a day' set.
Stumpy01
You save your pictures in a set
You then post them up in the group.
If you put them just in a set we can't see them in the group.
Cheers Johnclimber....yeah, I uploaded some, then thought that I might want to edit them (bit of contrast & saturation, nothing major) so have left them there until tomorrow when I have more time to fiddle about.
I'll delete the ones I've uploaded & stick the edited ones on instead.
Then i'll do the whole set thing...
Once they're in a set, presumably they will be visible to others in the group...?
God. I feel like a luddite!
Stick with it, it becomes very straightforward after you get your head round the sets and groups thing.
I have my own set called "Photo-a-day, 2013". I upload pictures and then add them to this set (you can add them at upload time instead).
This set is visible to anyone but it is entirely owned by me.
I'm also a member of several groups, one of which is "One photo every day 365". This has many members, so is community-owned. You apply to join, or if you let me know your Flickr name, I can send you an invite.
Once you're a member, you simply choose which picture from your set you want to have included in the group and choose "Actions" -> "Add to group"
Wooo! Got it done after quite a bit of cursing and swearing! 😀
I've been in for a few days, quite like the way it makes me look around more.
Pictures might be shite but I enjoy it
Right, forgot yesterday - what's the protocol / forfeit?
I forgot one too. Woke up yesterday and realised that I'd been so knackered the night before I'd gone to bed without taking a photo

I'll carry on trying for my 365, it's just that I won't complete it in a single calendar year
there is a bloke on the photo a day thing.......and all he ever does is take a photo of himself.
he is a yank tho.........weirdo 😕
I noticed that too
Taken a photo a day but think I have not posted one this week 🙄
Night shifts and a few busy days running about after other people, poor memory etc. 🙄
That guy likes to write about how he is feeling as well 😕
Not a very blokey thing to do is it ? 😉
I'm out, came back off holiday feeling crap and missed a day, then despite realising I'd missed a day promptly missed a second day. That's my personal three strikes and out
might turn it into a 52 and try the 365 again another time,
I didn't think I'd stick to this but I have a process, take picture at some point of something to do with my day, upload to a blog that uploads to Flickr two seconds on Flickr assign to group, and I have the app for blog on my tablet and phone as I travel a bit I have snippets of time where I can write the blog words anytime and save for upload.
Looking back at 35 pictures of 2013 is interesting as a snap shot of my month, look forward to having a quarters worth, a half year and full year to look back on.

That guy has done it for five years! I looked back at his early photos.... Yup..... still of himself. 🙂
Still, he gets a lot of encouraging comments. Perhaps it's my Britishness that makes me uneasy about that level of self- reflection?
Only 10% done an already I've had to use the 'quick photograph the cat' 'cos I've nearly forgotten!
I think there should be a cr@p photo of the month competition for us lesser mortals 😀
Arrghh... Pants...
I forgot again yesterday. This is the problem with spending all the hours of daylight sat in an office... Unless I start taking photos of the ever-growing pile of coke cans on my desk - I seriously lack any fun subject matter during the day. I can only take so many photos of the dog in front of the fire before they get dull...
Speaking of which, here is my effort from 31/01/13 - which had a geniune point to it, getting a black dog in a relatively dark room to be both in focus (on the eye) and with enough definition, without having the shutter open so long I end up with inevitable blurring...
