my pc has been getting really slow when online.i have a 3 mobile 3g dongle and use chrome with adblocker browser.i also have avast antivirus and spybot.i also use cg cleaner.
i make sure that i update regularly (both spybot/avast).
when looking at the seasonal music video thread,my pc was just grinding to a halt (and it kept saying that shockwave wasn't working (and disabling it option came up).
have been finding that youtube keeps on reloading videos/stops playing them e.t.c
it's doing my head in tbh (have done a full scan e.t.c0
any advice would be most welcome (if you can explain in numpty terms also 😉

p.s i also use realplayer to download guitar videos on youtube.i have been finding that realplayer doesn't download the whole video anymore for some reason?
p.p.s i had to delete chrome from my hard drive/re install it,as bloody ask.com had decided to install itself on my pc (make it's page my browser homepage 😡

if i were you id be running though your contol panel/ programs and uninstalling everything i could (shockwave etc included)
Id also have a snoop around the file system for anything you dont recognise.
Make sure you get rid of any IE or chrome toolbars/ addins as well
then running a disk defrag
If that fails ( as well it might) then just be done with it and re-install windows
Pull up task manager when it's being slow (ctrl-shift-esc) and look at the processes list. Are any taking massive amounts of CPU or memory? (You can click the column headings to set the display order).
your using a 3g modem and asking why it's slow? could be that the 3g network is over subscribed and not very reliable.
