Have sold a few bits recently and had no problems with receiving money via Paypal gift. Just got £20 and got clobbered for charges, anyone suggest why? Have things changed or have I exceeded a limit possibly?

If the person who paid pays by credit card then there are still charges.

when you send a gift you can choose who pays the fees if you dont have money in your account or it NOT linked to your bank account.
They chose you

They didn't leave you a message like "happy Birthday mate" so you got sussed?

Only a matter of time before paypal realised the abuse going on out there.

Always get buyers to leave a nice "gift" based message.

I am only speculating BTW

Clubber is correct. If the payment comes from the paypal balance or bank account it's still free. If the payment comes from a credit card they get to choose who pays the fee associated with it.
