In my new house I've got parquet flooring, needs a sand, wax and seal. 20ft x 14ft.

Anyone have a rough idea of cost to have it done?

I'm quite handy and would do it myself, but think I'm going to get a professional to do this one so it looks bang on.

I'm afraid I'm not...unless you wanted new parquet. ๐Ÿ™‚ I don't do refurbs.

It's a pig enough of a job refurbing floorboards - but I'd recommend leaving a parquet job to a pro...and one with his own kit, not some bloke who hires stuff out. Really, it needs a big orbital sanding & polishing machine all over it, rather than the drum-sander-every-which-way method which gets recommended.

As for price, not a clue - depends on state of existing floor, how much work it's going to be to get the existing finish off and what finish you choose for the new floor and of course, where you live. Any guy that looks should know the difference between oils and lacquers and be able to apply either. He should be able to specialise in parquet - as the sanding and finishing requires skills outside the remit of your everyday floorboard restorer.
