I got a yellow note left on the van last year, off the Police while parked in a forest car park, saying
THIS IS NOT A PARKING TICKET,
Thieves are operating in this area,and the police are aware that cars have been broken into, etc etc.
The two Ford focus cars next to me also got a similar ticket, and they also had their side windows smashed and the radios nicked, they where really pleased to see the police knew thieves where operating in the area.
PeterPoddy - Member....But it seems more often than not that they are not being helpful. It's never done me any harm, like deleting spam emails....
surely better to check though eh? That one time in 10 could save your life.
Imagine a note that said "Hi, I think I saw someone cutting your brake hoses last night - best check before you get going...."

by taxing and insuring a vehicle you can park it on the public highway, legal restrictions permitting - a few cones pinched from some road works don't mean pish, if I'm feeling generous I'll move them, if not they'll just get driven over, especially in some of the wrecks I've owned or work trucks
last place I lived, everyone parked on the waste ground over the road, until it was built on = parking shortage. All the new places had two spaces and most of the owners no cars, so a quick ask around turned up half a dozen spaces I could use, lovely
