UPDATE: Reviews section refreshed, redesigned, searchable: Go take a look
We’re doing the King Alfred Way next week. Any recommendations where we can leave a car whilst we’re riding?
Thought the P&R looked good but no overnight stays.
Cheers

Winchester railway station?
Car park name
Winchester Car Park
Spaces 464
Weekly ticket: £43.40
I will speak to two colleagues in the morning and see if they have space on their driveway.
Failing that there's lots of public streets that are unrestricted just a few minutes out from the centre.
When I used to do the stw over 3 days I used to use an app where you park on sometimes driveway for a prepaid fee. I used it a few times in Winchester, you can see where it will be parked before paying and read reviews etc. it's like an Airbnb for driveways.lol
Never had and issues and I always felt safer parking a car there than in a public car park where bad stuff can happen to cars overnight.
I can't remember the apps name but I'm sure a quick Google will tell you. 👍
Check out the park and ride car parks, very cheap, £3.50 per day iirc

Cheers. Sorted on Just Park for £23 👍

Yeah, handy little app isn't it? Pretty sure someone on here alerted me to it in my 'STW days'. I hope to make a return to them next year...
Good luck with the KAW and hope you share some pics on here, I've not ridden it unfortunately.
If you're doing KAW in the next few days just check that all the section(s) around Cheesefoot Head are accessible.
I think they're setting up for an event there. I drove past Tuesday night so only got a quick glimpse and a warning the car park there will be shut but someone also mentioned a lot of Heras fence nearby.
You should be able to get round somehow but forewarned etc ...

That'll be for Boomtown festival but it's not taking place until mid August
Coincidentally I did kaw exactly 2 years ago and saw them setting up with fencing, stage etc but there was no issues with access or detours required
Watch the chalk, should be great if it remains dry though. It's a tough route on a CX bike ! We started near Amesbury and left the car at a Premier Inn as we were staying there on arrival, and then last night before coming home. We had a mad muddy/chalky section on day one (leaving Amesbury towards Avebury) which hopefully will be dry (we completely clogged up, couldn't even push through and had to clamber up six foot into a field, that wasn't much better. Lost about an hour getting through half a mile, including cleaning off.
Oh and Butser Hill can do one. We hit it at the end of a long day, with our campsite on the other side. Had to ride back up the next day to get to the route.
Enjoy. Are you camping or B&B ?

Thanks Matt but all sorted 👍
Five days parked around Winchester? Your vehicle will be propped up on piles of bricks instead of wheels! 🤣
They've actually had some rain around there this afternoon.
