Had mine about 15 years and it has come time for the op.
I have had enough of pushing it back in 20 times a day and sometimes it gets a little stuck on the way back in and can take a bit of pushing to get it back in. Only for it to pop straight back out again. Just before xmas had to put a belt around stomach/hernia with some socks rolled up on top and tighten and then move about to get it to go back in. Almost an A&E moment. My kids were looking at me in a very worried way .

Anyone had it done and if so what was it like /recovery time ??

Cheers Si

Yep. Get it done. Took me two weeks keeping it steady, lots of walking to keep the blood flowing but nothing vigorous and NO HEAVY LIFTING. After that I was back to normal.
Op was done on a Saturday, I was in work on the Monday (self employed innit). Bit sore getting out of bed for a few days, but otherwise just the normal effects of a general anesthetic and painkillers.

It's been fine ever since. I didn't ride for about six weeks though, just to be in the safe side.

I had an epigastric repair (just above the belly button) done in 2013, I was back on the bike in a week.
2' scar, they told me it was going to be keyhole. ๐Ÿ˜‰
